Photographs made slowly, under the pines

Pine House is an unhurried photography practice for people who would rather walk and talk than pose. We work in forest light and on small, quiet days, and make pictures you'll still want on the wall in twenty years.

  2. Plan together

On a relaxed call we choose the location, the light window and what to wear. Your date is held with a deposit.

We walk, talk and photograph. Nobody has to perform, and there's time to warm up.

  4. Your gallery

A private online gallery arrives within three weeks, with a sneak peek of five frames inside seven days.

How to get ready for a forest session

A little preparation turns a good session into an easy one. Your planning call covers all of this, but here's the short version.

Wear texture

Knits, linen and denim in muted tones sit well against green and bark. Avoid large logos and neon.

Chase the light

Most sessions start two hours before sunset. Summer elopements sometimes begin at sunrise instead.

Plan for the path

Bring shoes you can walk in and change at the spot. Trails can be damp even on dry days.

Bring the dog

Pets and small children set the pace. Snacks and a favourite toy help more than any pose.

Before you book

Questions people ask first

How do I hold a date?

After the planning call, a 30% deposit secures your date. The balance is due one week before the session, or one month before an elopement.

What happens if it rains?

Light drizzle under the pines often looks beautiful. If the weather turns properly bad, we move your session to the next open date at no cost.

Do you travel?

Yes. Sessions within an hour of the studio include travel. For anything further we quote travel at cost when you enquire.

Can we order prints and albums?

Every gallery has a print shop with archival papers. Linen-bound albums can be designed after delivery, and we'll send proofs before anything is made.

How are the images edited?

Each frame is hand-edited for true skin tones and natural colour. We don't use heavy filters or body reshaping, and small blemishes are softened on request.

Can we share and print the photos freely?

Yes. You get a personal-use licence to print, share and frame your images. Commercial use, such as headshots for company websites, can be added to a portrait session.

A few lines is plenty. We'll reply within two working days with available dates and a suggested location.
